Product description

The optical fiber visual fault locator (VFL) with a power output of 30mW emits a visible red laser beam with a wavelength of 650nm. The device can emit either a continuous beam (CW mode) or a pulsed beam (GLINT mode). When the beam encounters an obstacle, the light scatters, allowing you to easily identify issues such as a broken fiber, severed cable, defective, or dirty connector, etc.

Thanks to its design, the locator is suitable for connectors with a 2.5mm ferrule, such as SC, ST, FC, and E2000. The locator has a range of up to 30km and is powered by 2x AA batteries. It is not suitable for use with dark or armored cables whose sheath cannot transmit the light. In such cases, we recommend using an OTDR.
